2025 - Margulis and Mud
Performance. 70 minutes
Performed at Kanneltalo, Helsinki (2025)
The performance is inspired and informed by the research of evolution biologists dr. Lynn Margulis (1938-2011), whose work on bacteria and unicellular organisms changed the scientific understanding of evolutionary processes. Instead of competition, her research emphasizes the importance of collaboration and symbiosis. Following Margulis’ footsteps, the performance explores the act of collaboration and creation. Guided by the orchestra of mud and the pulse of life, Lynn Margulis and her son Dorion move through a constantly evolving landscape.
